Daily Update: Russia Loses 960 Troops, 76 Artillery Systems, Air Defense Unit in One Day

Russian forces lost 960 troops over the past 24 hours, according to Ukraine’s General Staff on April 26, as fighting continued across multiple front-line sectors.

According to the update, total Russian losses since the start of the full-scale invasion in February 2022 have reached approximately 1,325,650 personnel.

Alongside personnel losses, Russian forces also lost additional equipment during the same period. Ukrainian officials reported the destruction of five armored combat vehicles, 76 artillery systems, one air defense system, 2,229 operational-tactical drones, 30 cruise missiles, 160 vehicles and fuel tankers, and additional military equipment.

Overall, Ukraine estimates that Russian forces have lost 11,892 tanks and more than 24,400 armored vehicles since the beginning of the invasion. According to the General Staff, combat intensity remains high across the battlefield.

During the past 24 hours, Ukrainian and Russian forces engaged in 149 combat clashes, the report said. Russian forces also carried out missile and air strikes, launching 50 missiles and conducting dozens of air attacks using guided aerial bombs.

The heaviest fighting was recorded on the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 34 assault attempts. Additional intense combat was reported on the Huliaipole direction with 18 attacks, as well as across the Kupiansk, Lyman, Kostiantynivka, and southern front sectors, including the Dnipro river area.

Ukrainian forces also reported strikes on seven areas of Russian troop concentration, three drone command points, a command post, two artillery systems, and one multiple launch rocket system over the reporting period.

Earlier, Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted coordinated strikes on Russian command posts, ammunition depots, and drone control centers across occupied territories and inside Russia. Targets included logistics hubs in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, command centers in Lysychansk and Kursk region, and drone control points near Huliaipole.
