Russian Strike on Kharkiv Region Kills 2 People, Injures 2

On November 9, 2024, Russian military forces launched artillery and airstrikes on the Kharkiv region, resulting in two deaths and two injuries, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

At approximately 10:20 AM, Russian troops carried out an artillery strike on the village of Prudki, targeting a private residential house. The 60-year-old homeowner suffered acute stress from the attack. The strike also caused damage to nearby homes and vehicles.

Around 11:00 AM, an airstrike hit the city of Kupiansk, damaging private homes, apartment buildings, and outbuildings. The attack also destroyed 15 garages. A 61-year-old man sustained injuries from the strike.

In addition, the airstrike caused overhead electrical wires to fall on two pedestrians, a man and a woman, starting a fire. Tragically, both victims were fatally injured, with their bodies severely burned. The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.

The Russian military is believed to have used FAB-1500 bombs in the Kupiansk strike and artillery shells in the attack on Prudki. Ukrainian authorities have initiated criminal investigations into violations of the laws and customs of war, as stipulated by Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
