Videos of the incident circulated online, showing damage at the refinery. Petro Andriushchenko, head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, commented on the attack through his Telegram channel: “Ufa. Novo-Ufa refinery hit. Over 1,800 km from Ukraine. A real deep strike.”
The Novo-Ufa refinery is one of the largest oil-processing facilities in Russia, supplying fuel to both domestic and export markets.
While Russian authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the scale of the damage, the incident underscores the reach of recent drone operations inside Russian territory.
Earlier, Ukrainian drones struck Russia’s largest Baltic oil terminal in Primorsk, damaging two Aframax-class tankers and forcing a temporary suspension of loading operations, according to Reuters on September 12.
