Strike drones reportedly targeted a major Russian chemical plant in the city of Kirovo-Chepetsk in Russia’s Kirov region, according to footage shared by the OSINT monitoring channel Exilenova+ on March 4.

Videos recorded by residents show smoke rising from the facility shortly after the strike, suggesting that a fire broke out on the plant’s territory following the attack.

The incident occurred early Wednesday morning. Eyewitness footage circulating online captures thick smoke billowing above the industrial complex shortly after the reported drone impact.

Preliminary reports indicate that the targeted facility was the Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Plant, a large industrial enterprise that operates as part of the Uralchem group. The plant is one of Russia’s major producers of mineral fertilizers, including ammonium nitrate, urea, and other chemical products widely used in agriculture and industrial manufacturing.

The drone strike was later acknowledged by the region’s governor, Alexander Sokolov, who confirmed that unmanned aerial vehicles had attacked the facility.

“Emergency services are currently working at the site. The situation is under control,” Sokolov said.

The governor also claimed that no casualties were reported following the attack.

At the same time, the regional official warned residents against publishing images or videos from the strike site, threatening potential legal consequences for those who share footage online.

The Kirovo-Chepetsk facility is considered strategically important for the region and is one of the country’s major suppliers of mineral fertilizers used in both agriculture and industrial sectors.

Notably, the strike reportedly occurred more than 1,000 kilometers from Ukraine’s border, highlighting the growing reach of long-range drone operations targeting infrastructure deep inside Russia.

The full extent of the damage to the facility has not yet been confirmed.

Earlier, drones struck the Russian chemical plant Dorogobuzh in the Smolensk region, a facility considered important to the production chain of explosive materials used by the Russian military.
