Drones struck a high-rise in the Grozny-City business complex that houses several regional government offices, including the Chechen Security Council, according to open-source analysis by Russian media Astra on December 5.

Based on footage shared by local residents, the strike reportedly hit a tower at 3/25 Kadyrov Avenue, damaging part of the facade.

Mapping data from the Russian service 2GIS indicates the building contains offices for the Chechen Security Council, the regional human rights commissioner, the audit chamber, the election commission, and other administrative bodies.

The explosion occurred in a skyscraper roughly 800 meters from the residence of Ramzan Kadyrov, head of the Chechen Republic.

Telegram channels citing residents say the blast was caused by a drone. The affected tower is home to multiple government institutions and sits within walking distance of Kadyrov’s compound.

Ukrainian OSINT community Supernova+ later confirmed this information. Chechen authorities have not issued a public statement.

Images posted on social media show significant damage to the building’s exterior. No casualties have been reported.

Earlier, a long-range drone struck a military compound belonging to the Chechen branch of the Russian FSB in the city of Gudermes.
