A drone attacked the barracks of the Akhmat Police Special Regiment in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, Russia, reported Chechen’s leader, Ramzan Kadyrov on Telegram on December 12.
Kadyrov claimed the drone was shot down before it could reach its target.
However, 4 guards sustained injuries during the incident. The unmanned aerial vehicle detonated mid-air, damaging the roof and shattering windows. Debris from the explosion reportedly caused a fire.
The barracks are located less than 4 kilometers (about 2.5 miles) from Kadyrov’s residence. Drones targeted this same facility on December 4.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that one drone was intercepted over Chechnya during the night. In total, 16 drones were claimed to be downed across different regions, including 4 over the Kursk region, 3 over North Ossetia, and 8 over Crimea.
Earlier, Kadyrov held a live Q&A session in Grozny, arriving at the event in a foreign armored infantry vehicle accompanied by 12 Ukrainian prisoners of war. During the session, Kadyrov asked one of the prisoners to take a pistol and shoot himself.
