Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo is visiting Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk announced on his Facebook on May 28.

Following their meeting, Stefanchuk thanked Orpo for Finland’s steadfast political, military, and humanitarian support.

He underscored Finland’s leadership within the EU, NATO, and international organizations, noting that Ukraine continues to benefit from concrete decisions and sustained engagement at the highest levels.

Following their meeting, Stefanchuk thanked Orpo for Finland’s steadfast political, military, and humanitarian support.

“I highly appreciate the efforts of President Alexander Stubb, Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, and the entire Finnish government. We value the fact that Ukraine remains a top priority in Finland’s foreign policy,” Stefanchuk said.

The two officials also discussed strengthening interparliamentary cooperation. Stefanchuk highlighted Finland’s ongoing solidarity, citing parliamentary resolutions, hearings, and statements in support of Ukraine.

Earlier, Finland had joined a growing list of EU member states allocating proceeds from frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine’s defense.

Under a new €90 million (approximately $100 million) agreement with the European Commission, Finland will supply Ukraine with ammunition produced by domestic defense manufacturers.
