Russian forces did not launch a mass drone strike against Ukrainian civilian targets overnight on April 1, according to reports from Ukraine’s Air Force. “We’ll keep monitoring; so far, it doesn’t mean anything,” Andrii Kovalenko, a National Security and Defense Council official, said on his Telegram channel.

The Monitor Telegram Channel, a Ukrainian channel that tracks Russian attacks stated “Main Update for the Morning of April 1, 2025, during the night, the enemy did not launch any strike drones. The last night without enemy drones was on March 14 of this year, and before that — October 14, 2024.”

This marks the first time in 2025 that Russia refrained from mass drone strikes against Ukrainian cities, villages, and infrastructure. The last instance of such a lull occurred on March 14, 2025, and before that, on October 14, 2024.

Despite the absence of drone strikes overnight, Russian forces targeted Ukraine with two Kh-59/69 guided missiles (KABs) aimed at Zaporizhzhia Region, which were reportedly intercepted. The morning update from the Air Force did not mention any drone attacks, and no alarms were raised in connection with potential drone strikes.

Dnipropetrovsk Region officials also reported drone attacks between the evening and morning hours, although details on the number of drones or extent of damage were not provided.

These latest developments comes on the heels of an energy ceasefire agreement made between Ukraine, Russia, and the US in Riyadh on March 25.

Since then, Russian forces have reportedly continued their attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, including energy facilities.
