The delivery of these new planes includes additional training for both pilots and the ground personnel who will maintain them. In the long term, the Ukrainian Air Force is expected to have at least six French Mirage 2000 jets at its disposal.
The cost of technical maintenance for three such fighters is 10 million euros per year.
Previously, the Ukrainian Minister of Defense, Mykhailo Fedorov, reported on the preparation for the transfer of these planes.

As part of the effort to strengthen air defenses during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the country is also waiting for further deliveries of SAMP/T, Mistral, and Crotale systems, along with ammunition.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and international partners worked to finalize what was expected to be the largest energy assistance package to date by February 24, marking the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
These discussions, held on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, focused on urgent infrastructure needs and record-setting support beyond existing aid. This effort coincided with a major Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting where 17 countries pledged nearly $38 billion for 2026.
