France to Send Mirage 2000 Fighter Jets to Ukraine by Early 2025

France will deliver Mirage 2000 fighter jets to Ukraine by the end of the first quarter of 2025, according to the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, who made the announcement on January 28 during a broadcast on Sud Radio.

“French Mirages will soon be flying over Ukraine. By the end of the quarter, as announced by the President of the Republic,” Barrot said.

On October 8, 2024, the French Defense Minister, Sébastien Lecornu wrote on X that France will deliver Mirage 2000 fighter jets to Ukraine in the first quarter of 2025, equipped with the latest systems for fighting and protecting against electronic warfare.

Earlier, on September 18, 2024, the French newspaper Sud Ouest reported that some of the Mirage 2000-5 aircraft that France plans to deliver to Ukraine will be modified to equip them with the ability to engage ground targets.
