Germany will provide Ukraine with an additional $2.3 billion in defense aid, as confirmed by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius during a meeting in the “Ramstein” format, Suspilne reported on October 15.

“We will continue and expand our support for Ukraine. Under new contracts, Germany will provide additional support exceeding $2.3 billion,” said Pistorius.

The support will include air defense systems, such as Patriot interceptors, radar systems, artillery systems with precision weapons, missiles, and ammunition.

Germany also plans to deliver two additional IRIS-T air defense systems with a large number of guided missiles, portable anti-aircraft systems, anti-tank weapons, modern communication equipment, and small arms.

“At the same time, we will continue to expand cooperation between Germany’s defense industry and Ukraine,” Pistorius added.

He emphasized that Germany will also begin a project to modernize weapons already provided to Ukraine, extending their operational lifespan and adapting them to the conditions of the war, according to Suspilne.

Pistorius stated that, following the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation between the defense industries of Ukraine and Germany is expected to be signed.

Previously, it was reported that the British Parliament has hosted the first public display in Europe of an Iranian-made Shahed-136 attack drone used by Russia in its war against Ukraine.
