Germany Ready to Accept Ukrainian Children for Treatment After Russian Strike On Ohmatdyt Children’s Hospital
German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach has stated that Germany is ready to accept Ukrainian children for treatment following Russia's strike on the "Ohmatdyt" children's hospital in Kyiv.
He made this statement on X (Twitter) after a phone call with the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Health, Viktor Liashko.
According to the German minister, in his conversation with Liashko, he assured that Germany "will accept sick children who need it at any time; the next rescue flight will depart on Wednesday."
Lauterbach added, "Putin has once again shown that he is a war criminal by shelling a children's hospital."
Multiple explosions were heard on the morning of July 8, when Russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine, including Kyiv.
Russia’s missiles hit the children’s hospital “Ohmatdyt”, a residential building, and other civilian infrastructure in the center of Kyiv. At least 22 people were killed and 72 injured. The air-raid alert lasted for one and a half hours.
Shortly after the strike, leaders of the Western countries came out with statements, condemning Russian attacks.
