On the morning of July 8, the Russian army launched a massive missile assault across Ukraine, deliberately targeting critical infrastructure like hospitals and power grids. Dozens of civilians were reportedly killed and injured in Kyiv following the attack, causing most of the destruction at “Ohmatdyt”, Kyiv’s largest children’s hospital.

Kyiv is currently under a massive mixed missile attack from Russian forces, reportedly involving the use of Kinzhal and Kalibr missiles. The city has experienced multiple strong explosions, causing widespread damage.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has confirmed at least 20 people killed and 461 injured.

Zelenskyy reported that the Russians attacked Ukraine with more than 40 missiles of various types and showed the consequences of the strikes on the biggest children’s hospital in Ukraine — “Ohmatdyt”.

Volodymyr Zhovnir, the director of “Ohmatdyt”, commented that one of the hospital buildings had been hit. Currently, they are organizing the evacuation and relocation of everyone inside.

According to the sources on the ground, there are victims in the hospital, and children being trapped under the rubble.

A strike on the hospital hit the building where children were receiving dialysis.

“Intensive care, operating and oncology units were damaged. The top priority is to transport patients to where there are ventilators and oxygen,” Health Minister Viktor Liashko said.

“Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital in Kyiv. One of the most important children’s hospitals not only in Ukraine but also in Europe. ‘Ohmatdyt’ has saved and restored the health of thousands of children… Russia cannot but know where its missiles are flying and must be fully accountable for all its crimes: against people, against children, against humanity in general. It is very important that the world does not remain silent about this now and that everyone sees what Russia is, what it is doing,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on his Facebook page.
