Germany to Fund Thousands of Long-Range Drones for Ukraine in New Deep-Strike Program

Germany will launch a program to provide Ukraine with several thousand long-range drones for deep strikes against the Russian war machine, totaling 351$ million, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced, according to a report by Le Soir on September 9.

“This new deep-strike initiative will include the delivery of several thousand long-range drones” produced by the Ukrainian defense industry, Pistorius said during a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in London.

Previously, it was reported that Germany was delivering two complete Patriot missile systems to Ukraine, with the first launchers already on Ukrainian soil.

Ukraine was also assessing options to partially lift its embargo on arms exports, particularly in the drone sector, to enable joint production projects with European partners.
