Germany’s Interior Minister Nancy Faeser has raised concerns over the growing threat posed by Russian sabotage activities in the country.

In a statement reported by n-tv Faeser emphasized that Germany is witnessing an increasingly aggressive stance from the Russian government. “The Putin regime is acting with increasing hostility,” Faeser stated.

Member of the conservative Christian Democratic Union, Roderich Kiesewetter, also highlighted the potential for violent actions in this context. He warned, “Sabotage and targeted killings are plausible risks.”

Faeser assured that Germany’s security agencies are deploying substantial resources to protect the country from threats related to Russian espionage, sabotage, and cyberattacks. She noted that these agencies have already demonstrated their vigilance by preventing explosive attacks allegedly planned by Russian operatives targeting Germany’s military support for Ukraine.

Recently, Germany’s Interior Ministry introduced a draft law aimed at strengthening security checks for personnel in sensitive sectors such as information technology and communications, particularly in government and critical infrastructure, amid rising espionage concerns.
