Ukrainian drones struck a Russian Federal Security Service building in temporarily occupied Armyansk, in northern Crimea, overnight on May 5, according to Militarnyi on May 6.

Footage posted online by the pro-Ukrainian monitoring channel Crimean Wind showed fire and smoke rising from the targeted facility. The channel identified the building as the FSB border guard service headquarters in the city.

Local residents reported a visible glow over Armyansk and a burning smell, with damage extending to a nearby two-story structure. Photographs published by Crimean Wind showed extensive structural destruction at the site, with the facade torn open and debris scattered across the perimeter.

Video shared by the OSINT Telegram channel Exilenova Plus captured the moment of impact from both close and distant angles.

"Half of the FSB building is completely gone, according to our subscribers," the Crimean Wind channel wrote on Telegram.

Sergey Aksyonov, the Russian-installed head of temporarily occupied Crimea, confirmed at 10:28 p.m. local time that "enemy drones" were attacking the peninsula, adding that air defense systems and mobile fire teams had been deployed. "I urge everyone to remain calm and to rely only on official sources of information," Aksyonov stated.

The strike coincided with Kyiv's rejection of Russia's proposed Victory Day truce. Ukrainian officials dismissed the offer after Moscow violated an earlier ceasefire 1,820 times, with Russian attacks killing 26 civilians nationwide.

The Armyansk site has been targeted before. In late August 2025, Ukrainian Flamingo cruise missiles destroyed an FSB border outpost and damaged six hovercraft patrol boats at the same location, killing at least one Russian serviceman, according to reporting at the time.
