Hero of Ukraine Title Awarded to Soldier Dmytro Maslovskyi Killed in Hand-to-Hand Combat

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to Senior Soldier Dmytro Maslovskyi of the 71st Separate Ranger Brigade of the Air Assault Forces, who died in hand-to-hand combat with a Russian soldier.

The announcement was made through an official decree published on the President’s Office website and shared by Zelenskyy on social media.

"Dmytro’s final battle in Donetsk region was witnessed by millions of Ukrainians. The exemplary courage of this soldier will forever remain in Ukraine’s memory. I presented the 'Golden Star' of the Hero of Ukraine to his mother," Zelenskyy stated.

On November 17, 2024, Senior Soldier Dmytro Maslovskyi, known by the call sign "Kobra," died in hand-to-hand combat with a Russian soldier in the village of Trudove, near Kurakhove in Donetsk region. The video of his final battle was shared on social media.

Previously, it was reported that the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces tracked down the Russian soldiers responsible for killing two Ukrainian prisoners of war.
