On February 28, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán expressed support for U.S. President Donald Trump, praising his confrontational approach to peace following a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House.

The discussions between Trump and Zelenskyy ended without resolution, with Trump urging the Ukrainian leader to “make a deal” or risk losing U.S. support. He later suggested that Zelenskyy was “not ready for peace,” implying that U.S. backing strengthens Ukraine’s position in negotiations.

Orbán, who has been critical of Western military aid to Ukraine and has advocated for direct negotiations with Russia, aligned with Trump’s stance, stating, “Strong men make peace, weak men make war. Today, the President stood firmly for peace, even if it was difficult for many to accept. Thank you, Mr. President.”

On the same day, global leaders voiced their support for President Zelenskyy following his meeting with President Trump at the White House.
