At the United Nations General Assembly, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto expressed his country’s readiness to contribute peacekeeping forces to Ukraine, contingent on a decision by the UN Security Council, according to his speech on September 23.

Subianto emphasized Indonesia’s commitment to global peace, stating, “We are ready to deploy 20,000 or even more of our sons and daughters to help secure peace in Gaza or elsewhere – in Ukraine, Sudan or Libya.”

“With a strong UN, we can build a world where the weak do not ‘suffer what they must, but live the justice they deserve,’ he continued.

Previously, it was reported that Indonesia had denied claims that Russia submitted an official request to base military aircraft on its territory, following a report that sparked concern among Western allies, particularly Australia, Defense and security outlet Janes reported.
