Iran has threatened to attack Ukraine directly, citing Kyiv’s alleged provision of drone-interceptor technology to Israel, according to a senior Iranian lawmaker.

According to Ebrahim Azizi on March 14, head of Iran’s parliamentary National Security Committee, claimed that Ukraine had “effectively entered the war” by supporting Israel with unmanned aerial systems. Azizi published the statement on X, accusing Kyiv of direct involvement in the conflict between Iran and Israel.

“Providing the Israeli regime with support using drones, the unsuccessful Ukraine has effectively entered the war and, accordingly, under Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, has turned its entire territory into a legitimate target for Iran,” Azizi wrote.
The remarks follow recent reports about Ukraine’s growing role in counter-drone technologies developed during its defense against Russian attacks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously said Ukrainian specialists with experience intercepting Iranian-designed Shahed drones had been deployed abroad to assist partners in the Middle East.

Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian experts were sent to help protect US military facilities in Jordan from drone threats following a request from Washington. The United States asked Kyiv for assistance in countering Iranian drone attacks, and Ukrainian specialists reportedly traveled to the region shortly afterward.
Western media also reported that the United States and at least one Gulf country were exploring the purchase of Ukrainian interceptor drones designed to counter Shahed-type UAVs more cheaply than traditional air defense systems.
The statements from Tehran come amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel following the start of direct military exchanges earlier this year. Ukrainian officials have repeatedly criticized Iran for supplying Russia with Shahed drones used in attacks on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure since 2022.
