The delivery of Iranian ballistic missiles will significantly boost Russia's ability to conduct precision strikes on Ukrainian military and civilian targets near the front lines, according to UK Defence Intelligence.

The report highlights that Iran has recently supplied Russia with Fath-360 short-range ballistic missiles. "First publicly displayed in 2020, the Iranian Fath-360 (also known as the BM-120) can deliver a 150kg warhead to a range of 120 km with a claimed accuracy of less than 30 metres. It can be deployed on a variety of road-mobile launchers including one capable of launching up to six missiles," the UK Defence Intelligence report states.

These Iranian missiles will "supplement and enhance" Russia’s capability for high-precision strikes against Ukrainian targets close to the front lines, while allowing Russia to conserve its longer-range weaponry for deeper targets within Ukraine.

Iran’s military support to Russia has already included hundreds of one-way attack (OWA) drones, artillery munitions, and substantial assistance with Russian UAV production.

"The supply of ballistic missiles represents a further deepening of Iran's and Russia's military relationship," the UK Defence Intelligence report concludes.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently confirmed that Iran has supplied short-range ballistic missiles to Russia. This development has prompted new US and UK sanctions against Iran.
