Ireland Sends 34 Vehicles and Demining Robots to Ukraine via Poland

Two convoys from the Irish Defense Forces have reached Poland as part of Ireland’s latest contribution to supporting Ukraine.
This was announced by Ireland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Simon Harris via X on September 18.
He stated that Operation Carousel 3, carried out by the Defense Forces’ Transport Corps, delivered 34 vehicles to the International Donor Coordination Centre in Rzeszów. The shipment forms part of Ireland’s commitment under the European Peace Facility.

“This important donation is a further indication of Ireland’s steadfast support for Ukraine in the face of Russia’s brutal invasion. It is imperative that we continue to stand firm in the face of ongoing Russian aggression and support Ukraine in whatever way we can,” Harris wrote.
Alongside the vehicles, the convoys also delivered three Reacher robots , which will be handed over to the Demining Coalition. Ireland participates in the coalition under the framework of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.
Harris underlined that the transfer is being coordinated through the EU Military Staff’s Clearing House Cell.
“The vehicles being donated are suitable to Ukraine’s needs and their handover will be confirmed in Poland by the Defense Forces and the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” Harris said.
Earlier, the Irish government approved an additional about $107 million package of non-lethal military assistance to Ukraine. Of this amount, approximately $21.4 million will be allocated to demining operations and strengthening cybersecurity, while around $85.6 million will go into an EU procurement fund to supply radars, drone-jamming systems, and other defensive equipment.
