Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto arrived in Ukraine on an official visit, the Italian Embassy in Kyiv announced on January 16.
“Minister Guido Crosetto has arrived in Kyiv for an official visit, during which he will hold several institutional meetings,” the embassy stated.
The details of his agenda in Kyiv have not been disclosed.
Italy has been a strong backer of Ukraine, providing military and humanitarian aid since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. In 2025 alone, Italy plans to allocate $1.7 billion in military aid to Ukraine.
Earlier, Crosetto stated that Italy was willing to take part in a possible future international peacekeeping mission to Ukraine.
“I hope to talk about peace, about peacekeeping. We are willing to play this role, a role in which we have always distinguished ourselves as a nation,” he said.
