“It’s a New Type of War”: Tusk Urges Europe to Stand United Against Russia

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk delivered a warning to European leaders, stating that Europe is no longer in a pre-war period but facing a direct war. In a speech at the European summit, Tusk emphasized that the war in Ukraine is not just an abstract issue for Poland, The Guardian reported on October 3.
“It’s a war – a new type of war, very complex, but it’s a war,” he said.
Tusk cited increasing security incidents, including near Polish Szczecin port and multiple border incursions with Belarus.

Tusk called for an end to the illusion that there is no war. He underscored that Ukraine’s defeat would signify failure for all of Europe, as Poland directly faces the consequences, The Guardian writes.
“It is our war, and if Ukraine loses, it means our failure,” he stated.
Tusk also pointed out Russia’s psychological advantage, with their willingness to sacrifice and endure hardship, something Europe must match in determination.
Concluding with a stark warning, Tusk said that a Russian victory would not only mark the end of Ukraine but would also jeopardize Poland and the entire continent.
He called for Europe to remain united and resolute, drawing inspiration from Ukraine and Moldova’s leadership in the fight, The Guardian reports.
Previously, Polish security services have uncovered a possible Russian military intelligence operation involving preparations for terrorist attacks using drones and explosives disguised as canned corn.
