Ukrainian military specialists have arrived in Denmark to share their expertise in countering unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced on September 29.

The training, named “Wings of Defense,” is a joint exercise involving Ukrainian and Danish forces, focusing on countermeasures against strike drones. The arrival of Ukrainian experts is intended to support Denmark following recent incidents involving unidentified drones in its airspace.

Over the course of a week, participants will engage in practical tasks, exchanging knowledge and enhancing their capabilities to defend against aerial threats. The exercise also aims to strengthen coordination and joint capabilities between the Ukrainian and Danish armed forces, reinforcing their shared commitment to European security.

“Such training is an important step in strengthening the interoperability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Denmark, making our countries stronger in the common pursuit of peace and security in Europe,” stated the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

On September 28, Denmark urgently called up several hundred reservists due to drone activity in its airspace, according to a new reports by TV2. The decision follows recent incidents involving unidentified drones, including a sighting on September 27 and another on September 25.

The reservists were called to service with the aim of preparing for potential deployments within Denmark. While such urgent calls are rare, they reflect the heightened concerns over aerial threats in the country.

Official figures on the total number of reservists in Denmark are unavailable, but estimates from 2013 suggested around 3,000 personnel.

Jesper Schneider, head of the Danish Reserve Personnel Organization, declined to comment on when the last urgent call occurred but noted that reserves are regularly called up for training and operational tasks.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has previously called for the creation of a joint air defense system that would unite Ukraine, Poland, and other partners in the region against growing Russian aerial threats.
