Kellogg Gets Cheeky on Trump’s 24-Hour War Claim: “We Didn’t Say What Day or What Year!”

Keith Kellogg, the U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia under President Donald Trump, commented on Trump’s promise to end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours.
“Remember the president [Trump] said he was gonna end the war in 24 hours. We didn’t say what day or what year,” Kellogg said during the Council on Foreign Relations discussion on “Securing Ukraine’s Future.”
Kellogg also recalled that Donald Trump sees potential in the prospect of Kyiv regaining control over some Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia. However, he did not specify which territories.
During his campaign, Donald Trump pledged to swiftly end the war in Ukraine, claiming he could do it within “24 hours” of taking office—or even before his inauguration.
This Kellogg’s statement comes amid U.S. President Donald Trump halting military aid to Ukraine and the U.S. temporarily suspending intelligence sharing with Kyiv.
