House Speaker Johnson: U.S. Aid Pause “Temporary,” But Zelenskyy Must Secure a “Win-Win” Deal

On March 4, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson stated that the pause in military aid to Ukraine is temporary, attributing it to recent developments at the White House. Speaking at a press briefing, he addressed concerns over the delay in U.S. support.
“This is a temporary pause,” Johnson said in response to questions about the U.S. administration’s decision to halt military assistance to Ukraine.
He referenced recent events at the White House, suggesting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should address the situation.
“President Zelenskyy needs to resolve what happened last week, the shocking events in the Oval Office,” Johnson stated.
Johnson also mentioned an agreement related to mineral resources, describing it as a potential solution.
“If he does this, I believe it would be a win-win for all parties involved. This could be the best possible deal to support the Ukrainian people, so I encourage him to proceed,” Johnson said.
He further noted that he was encouraged by Zelenskyy’s willingness to engage in discussions.
“I’m pleased that President Zelenskyy has made it clear that he still wants to finalize this agreement,” Johnson added.
Previously, it was reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy acknowledged growing concerns about the future of U.S. assistance to Ukraine.
