Kremlin Welcomes Reported U.S. Military Aid Pause to Ukraine as “Greatest Contribution to Peace”

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on March 4 that the possible halting of U.S. military supplies to Ukraine would be the “greatest contribution to peace.”
“We still need to learn the details, but if this is true, it is a decision that could indeed push the Kyiv regime toward the peace process,” Peskov said at a briefing, Meduza reported.
The Trump administration reportedly decided to pause U.S. military aid to Ukraine on March 3, according to an unnamed senior Defense Department official quoted by Bloomberg.
The spokesperson stated that it is “obvious” the U.S. has been the “main supplier of this war.”
“If the U.S. halts these deliveries, it would likely be the greatest contribution to peace,” he added.
The announcement of the military aid pause via the press comes before Trump’s March 4 speech to Congress. It was preceded by a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, where he wrote “Tomorrow night will be big. I will tell it like it is.”
On March 2, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that a peace agreement to end the war remains “very, very far away.”
