The Office of the President of Ukraine has confirmed that discussions are underway to coordinate a meeting schedule with the administration of US President Donald Trump.

According to Suspilne, citing sources within the President’s Office, efforts are being made to align diplomatic engagements.

On the evening of February 2, Trump stated that negotiations involving Ukraine and Russia regarding the war were progressing positively.

“We are dealing with Ukraine and Russia… We have meetings and negotiations planned with various parties, including Ukraine and Russia. And I think these discussions are going quite well,” he remarked without elaborating on specifics.

Following Trump’s statement, sources within the Ukrainian government confirmed that efforts are underway to finalize a meeting schedule with the Trump administration.

Media reports indicate that Trump has directed officials to arrange a phone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, with the objective of organizing a meeting.

On February 1, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the risks of Ukraine being excluded from US-Russia negotiations on the war, calling such a move “very dangerous.” He urged Washington and Kyiv to maintain dialogue to develop a framework for a potential ceasefire.

Earlier, Russia said it was considering Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as possible venues for a summit between US President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, two Russian sources told Reuters.
