Ukrainian Presidential Chief of Staff Andrii Yermak stated that he has spoken with US Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll and expects him to visit Kyiv this week to help finalize steps toward ending the war with Russia, according to the statement on his Telegram channel on November 25.
In a message, Yermak said he had “just spoken” with Driscoll and thanked him “for the focus and constructiveness” of the conversation. Yermak added that a “good foundation” for further work had been laid at recent talks in Geneva and said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and “the entire team in Kyiv” were fully committed to continuing the negotiations.
He also emphasized that Kyiv did not see itself as blocking efforts to reach a settlement, saying: “Ukraine has never been and will never be an obstacle to peace. We are grateful to the United States for all its support.”
Earlier, it was reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the current draft of the US peace plan under discussion in Geneva includes elements that align with Ukraine’s core national interests.
