Kyiv Neurologist Loses Both Children, Aged 19 and 21, in Russian Missile Strike on April 24

Russia’s massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv on April 24 took the lives of 12 people, including Dr. Yaroslav Kozlov’s two children, 21-year-old Nikita and 19-year-old Sofiia.

Kyiv neurologist Yaroslav Kozlov lost both of his children, 21-year-old Nikita and 19-year-old Sofiia, during Russia’s missile attack on the capital on April 24, the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv wrote on their account on Facebook.

Nikita was a student at the National Transport University. Sofiia had recently graduated from the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design.

Dr. Kozlov, a well-known specialist with over 15 years of experience, currently works at the University Clinic of Taras Shevchenko National University.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the deaths of the siblings, without naming them, in a public address following the strike.

Russia launched a large-scale air and missile assault on Ukraine between 7:30 p.m. on April 23 and 6:35 a.m. on April 24, 2025, targeting both critical infrastructure and civilian areas across the country.

Search and rescue operations concluded on the morning of April 25 at the residential building hit by the missile. A total of 12 people were killed and more than 100 were injured.
