Lithuania has supplied Ukraine with short-range man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS) and accompanying missiles, the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense announced. the equipment reportedly arrived in Ukraine late last week.
Vilnius outlined its key areas of support for Ukraine in 2025, which include air defense, ammunition, drones, and anti-drone systems. Lithuania also plans to develop its own defense industry while supporting Ukraine’s by financing domestically produced weapons.
Lithuania will continue its role in the Mine Action Coalition, which it co-leads with Iceland, and will participate in other international coalitions.
Military aid will be delivered through international funds and collective initiatives. Additionally, Lithuania will continue training Ukrainian military personnel and providing medical rehabilitation for wounded soldiers.
On January 30, Lithuanian Armed Forces Commander Raimundas Vaikšnoras suggested discussing the possibility of deploying peacekeepers to Ukraine.
Speaking to LRT on January 30, Vaikšnoras noted Lithuania's role in maintaining European stability.
