“The central event of the visit will be the talks between the leaders of the two countries,” the Belarusian presidency stated. It added that the two sides plan to discuss “the full spectrum of directions for the development of Belarusian-Korean relations.”
The statement did not outline specific agreements in advance, but it framed the trip as a step toward expanding engagement between Belarus and North Korea.

The trip comes as a Trump-Lukashenko meeting at Mar-a-Lago or the White House is reportedly being weighed as Washington tests a broader thaw with Minsk after months of quiet contacts.
The possibility of a Trump-Lukashenko meeting at Mar-a-Lago or the White House is reportedly being weighed as Washington tests a broader thaw with Minsk after months of quiet contacts.
The effort was described by Trump’s envoy to Belarus, John Coale, as part of a personal diplomacy track that has been under discussion for months.
The opening followed a series of prisoner releases secured since Trump’s return to office, with more than 500 political detainees reportedly freed as sanctions on Belarusian finance and potash were eased.
