Ukrainian defense manufacturer MAC HUB has officially unveiled the MAC OWL armored combat vehicle, marking a new phase in the company’s defense production efforts, the company confirmed in comments to Ukrainian defense outlet Militarnyi on January 16.

It also confirmed that the project was developed in cooperation with South Africa’s Paramount Group.

“Military Armored Company HUB has a strategic agreement with the world’s third-largest military-aerospace company, Paramount Group, to jointly produce their vehicle line in Ukraine,” the manufacturer said.

According to MAC HUB, the MAC OWL is not a localized copy of an existing vehicle but a distinct platform developed on the basis of proven designs and extensively reengineered for battlefield conditions in Ukraine.

“The MAC OWL project, which took a year and a half to complete, was refined and redesigned by MAC HUB specifically for the realities of our war. The company has the necessary expertise and team to deliver such a platform,” company representatives told Militarnyi.

Ukrainian engineers carried out substantial modifications to the vehicle, adapting it to operational demands observed during the ongoing war. The company said the armored vehicle has completed a full cycle of trials and has been deemed ready for high-complexity combat missions.

The MAC OWL is a wheeled armored combat vehicle offering ballistic protection in line with PZSA-6 standards and mine protection certified to STANAG 4569 Levels 3a and 3b, with the option to upgrade protection to Levels 4a and 4b.

Key specifications include a combat weight of 16 tons, a maximum road speed of up to 100 km/h, and a 4×4 configuration. The vehicle is designed for a crew of three and can carry up to six additional troops. With a length of 6.3 meters, the platform can be equipped with a remotely operated weapon station mounting either a heavy machine gun or a grenade launcher.

MAC HUB described the MAC OWL as the first example of serial armored vehicle production in Ukraine, carried out in partnership with a major international defense holding company.

The firm said the platform will also serve as a foundation for future joint programs, including projects focused on ground-based robotic combat systems.

Earlier, reports emerged that Ukrainian defense manufacturer UkrArmoTech delivered 402 newly produced armored vehicles to Ukraine’s Defense Forces in December 2025.
