Ukrainian forces have liberated the villages of Shcherbaky and Mala Shcherbaky in the Zaporizhzhia region and regained partial control of Stepove, the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment reported, releasing footage of the operation on October 13.
“The offensive continues. During the advance, units of the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment and the 24th Separate Assault Battalion liberated the settlements of Mala Shcherbaky, Shcherbaky, and partially Stepove,” the Ukrainian military stated.
33rd Separate Assault Regiment highlighted the brave actions of its soldiers during the operation.
“Our assault troops bravely broke through enemy defenses and pushed forward across nearby areas. Our guys aren’t just driving the occupiers back—they’re taking back their homeland, meter by meter. The operation continues,” Ukrainian troops said in a statement.
The regiment added that during the liberation effort, Ukrainian soldiers also captured several Russian troops, adding to the country’s prisoner exchange pool.
Earlier, Ukrainian assault troops recaptured the village of Mali Shcherbaky in the Zaporizhzhia region, marking a tactical advance on one of the most contested sections of the southern front.
