More Than 600,000 Russian Troops Are Now Concentrated in Ukraine, Zelenskyy Says
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed that Russia currently has more than 600,000 soldiers stationed in Ukraine, while the Ukrainian Armed Forces number around 880,000, during a press conference after a meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw on January 15.
“Today there are 600,000, a little bit more, Russian contingent on the territory of our state. Perhaps a little less – it depends on how our guys worked today,” Zelenskyy said.
However, Zelenskyy emphasized that while Ukraine’s forces are spread across the entire country, Russian troops are concentrated in specific areas, giving them a numerical advantage in those sectors.
He also stated that approximately 33-34% of the weaponry used by Ukraine is domestically produced.
In addition, Zelenskyy reported that Ukraine is manufacturing more drones than Russia.
Ukrainian President reiterated that Ukraine supports the involvement of European contingents in its security guarantees but stressed that these measures alone are not sufficient.
Earlier, Tusk stated that Russia intended to carry out terrorist attacks not only against Poland but also targeting airlines globally.
