Netherlands Pledges €60 Million to Strengthen Drone Capabilities in Ukraine
The Netherlands has allocated €60 million to boost Ukraine’s offensive drone capabilities, according to the Dutch Ministry of Defense.
The sum will be divided into parts, allocating €20 million to purchase FPV drones through the Drone Coalition, established earlier in 2024 by the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine.
Additionally, €17.5 million will be directed towards acquiring maritime drones, including funding for their production within Ukraine.
The remaining funds will be used for bilateral drone supplies and unmanned system purchases from Dutch industry.
Launched in February 2024 as part of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine, the drone coalition for Ukraine became operational under the co-leadership of Latvia and Great Britain. Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Lithuania, Estonia, Canada, and the Netherlands joined the initiative soon after.
By the end of April, the coalition had already raised nearly €500 million ($535 million) for Ukraine, earmarked for the purchase of drones.
