New Epstein Files Mention Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov More Than 140 Times

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov’s name appears at least 142 times in materials related to the case of American financier Jeffrey Epstein, according to The Moscow Times, citing a report by Mozhem Ob’yasnit on February 4.

The documents, published by the US Department of Justice, reveal that Lavrov was mentioned in various contexts, including a conversation between Epstein and former Slovak foreign minister Miroslav Lajčák on October 8, 2018.

In this exchange, they discuss “beautiful girls” from Moldova and the gifts Epstein received from Lavrov’s former colleague, Vitaly Churkin, Russia’s former permanent representative to the UN.

Epstein also expressed interest in meeting Lavrov, with Lajčák commenting on his fondness for the Russian minister.

Additionally, Lavrov’s name appears in earlier exchanges, such as a 2016 conversation between Epstein and then-Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjørn Jagland, where they discussed potential contacts with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and the coordination of details through Lavrov, The Moscow Times wrote.

Further correspondence also highlighted Epstein’s involvement in discussions about Lavrov’s meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry regarding Syria negotiations.

These newly released documents reveal other connections between Epstein and Russia, including discussions with FSB  academy alumni, involvement in operations involving compromising material, and mentions of meetings with Putin.

Previously, it was reported that the deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein allegedly played a key role in one of the largest known sexual blackmail operations connected to Russian intelligence.

Journalists calculated that newly released documents in the Epstein case contain 1,056 references to Russia and Vladimir Putin, and 9,629 references to Moscow.
