Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, has stated that there will be no cessation of hostilities along the contact line in Ukraine, according to Russian state media on February 26.

Lavrov emphasized, "We have a constitution," adding that such a halt in fighting is not feasible.

The Russian Foreign Minister also made it clear that Moscow would not agree to any deals that would involve further arming the Ukrainian government. "It is impossible to enter into agreements that would involve pumping the Kyiv regime with weapons again," he concluded.

Additionally, Lavrov dismissed the idea of European peacekeepers being deployed to Ukraine, stating that Russia has not been approached with such a proposal and does not consider it an option.

Earlier, French Finance Minister Eric Lombard said the United States is expected to support European peacekeeping forces in Ukraine once a ceasefire agreement is reached. Speaking on February 26 during an interview with Bloomberg Television at the G20 finance ministers' meeting in Cape Town, Lombard emphasized that the UK, Germany, France, and other European nations are ready to deploy troops to ensure ceasefire compliance.
