North Korean Troops Are Being Prepared for Direct Combat, Reports Ukrainian Intelligence
On December 13, North Korean military units, recruited by Russia for its war against Ukraine, were reportedly placed on high alert. Likely, they will soon participate directly in combat operations, HUR reports.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, the commanders of the North Korean units were ordered to coordinate with adjacent Russian forces engaged in combat operations in the Kursk region.
HUR stated that North Korean servicemen recently received extra food supplies. Additionally, some North Korean troops are being secretly transported to the front lines in civilian trucks disguised to look like water delivery vehicles.
HUR has reported at the end on November that over 100 North Korean artillery systems and an equal number of short-range ballistic missiles, specifically the KN-23/24 types, were transferred to Russia.
On August 12, Ukraine officially confirmed conducting a military operation in the Kursk region, successfully establishing a buffer zone within Russian territory as a result.
Previously, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed that the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched the Kursk incursion as a preemptive measure in order to disrupt Russian plans to capture Ukraine’s Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
