Drones have allegedly targeted the Kotovsk Powder Plant in Russia’s Tambov region, destroying one of the facility’s buildings, according to satellite imagery published by the Telegram channel Exilenova+.

The strike occurred on July 25, marking the second reported attack on the plant in recent months. A previous incident was reported in June 2025.

Satellite images suggest the facility is undergoing expansion, with new production buildings currently under construction. Despite the visible damage to one of the structures, it remains unclear whether the attack has affected the plant’s overall operations or production volumes.

The Kotovsk Powder Plant, part of the Russian state-owned defense conglomerate Rostec, manufactures over 200 types of products. These include pyroxylin-based gunpowders used in small arms, hand grenades, grenade launcher rounds, as well as artillery and mortar munitions.

The plant is located approximately 360 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Earlier, on July 26, drones reportedly struck the Signal defense plant in Stavropol, a key Russian facility producing electronic warfare systems such as “Topol-E” and “Smalta.” The strike caused a fire and structural damage, with no reported casualties.
