Over 7500 People Evacuated and Two People Killed as Russian Assault Continues in Kharkiv Region

Around 7500 civilians were evacuated from villages in the Kharkiv Region after Russia launched a new offensive in this direction.

This was reported by the Kharkiv Region Governor Oleh Syniehubov on his official social media accounts.

“7531 people are already in safer places, of which 568 are children, 201 are people with disabilities,” wrote Syniehubov. Evacuation operations continue.

As a result of hostilities on May 14, two residents were killed in the Vovchansk community of the Chuhuiv district. An 80-year-old woman was killed due to Russia’s shelling that took place in the city of Vovchansk at 11:55. In the village of Hatyshche, an 83-year-old civilian died as a result of a shrapnel wound.

Russia continues to attempt advances in the Vovchansk direction. Active battles are taking place on the northern outskirts of the city. Ukrainian Armed Forces are clearing urban areas of Vovchansk. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the situation is under control.
