Poll: Zelenskyy’s Approval Soars to 68% Following High-Stakes White House Meeting

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s approval rating has surged to 68%, according to a new poll by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), released on March 7, reflecting growing domestic support amid escalating tensions between Kyiv and the Trump administration.
Zelenskyy’s popularity has climbed from 52% in December to 57% in February, before reaching its latest high in early March.
The poll, conducted from February 14 to March 4, 2025, captured public sentiment during a turbulent period in U.S.-Ukraine relations, including an emotional White House meeting on February 28.
By early March, the share of Ukrainians who distrust Zelenskyy had dropped to 27%, bringing his net trust rating to +41%—a significant improvement from previous months.
The poll surveyed 1,029 adults across government-controlled Ukrainian territories.
While trust in Zelenskyy remains highest in central and western Ukraine (66–69%), even in the country’s east—where opinions have traditionally been more divided—60% of respondents expressed confidence in the President.
Earlier, Trump claimed that Zelenskyy’s approval rating had “dropped to 4%.”
“Where is the leader in Ukraine? I mean, I hate to say this, but his approval rating has dropped to 4%. The country is in tatters,” Trump told reporters.
