Russia Abducts 119 Ukrainian Teens From Mariupol for Forced Re-Education
Another instance of Ukrainian children being abducted by Russia was reported by The Center for National Resistance on January 2. A total of 119 high school students from temporarily occupied Mariupol have been sent to Russia for "re-education."
The Center noted that the Kremlin authorities arranged propaganda sessions for the students, aimed at assimilation and imposing the identity of the "Russian world ."
The goal of the Russian authorities, according to the Center, is to systematically strip young Ukrainians of their cultural identity, fostering hatred toward Ukraine. Instead of vacations, the children are subjected to forced "excursions," which often end with them never returning home.
“Genocide in action: the Kremlin is using child abduction as another tool to destroy the Ukrainian nation,” the National Resistance Center emphasizes.
On December 24, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed that two years ago, as Russian forces withdrew from Kherson, they abducted 48 toddlers from a local orphanage.
