Russia and Ukraine May Reach Peace Deal This Week, Trump Says

US President Donald Trump suggested that Russia and Ukraine may reach some kind of agreement as early as next week, according to a post he made on Truth Social on April 20.

“HOPEFULLY RUSSIA AMD UKRAINE WILL MAKE A DEAL THIS WEEK. BOTH WILL THEN START TO DO THE BIG BUSINESS WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WHICH IS THRIVING, AND MAKE A FORTUNE!” Trump wrote.

Trump did not provide any details about the nature of the potential deal or cite a source for the claim.

Earlier, Trump stated that while he remains optimistic about the possibility of resolving, the US may refrain from involvement if the negotiating sides prove uncooperative.

“We’re going to get it done ideally,” Trump said. “If for some reason one of the two parties makes it very difficult … we’re going to just take a pass. Hopefully we won’t have to do that.”

Trump expressed hope, saying he believed there was a “good chance” to resolve Russia’s war against Ukraine.
