Russia Confirms Ukraine’s Strike Drones Fly 1,250 km to Hit Industrial Site in Russia’s Orenburg

Strike drones traveled 1,250 kilometers and damaged an industrial facility in the Russian city of Orenburg, according to Evgeny Solntsev, governor of the Orenburg region, on December 24.
Solntsev reported that the drones entered the area at around 6 a.m. Local authorities immediately implemented the “Kovyor ” alert regime, and Orenburg Airport temporarily suspended all arrivals and departures.

“The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ drones attempted to attack one of the region’s industrial facilities,” the governor said. He confirmed that the drones reached the facility but did not disclose the full extent of the damage.
“Some infrastructure at the facility was slightly damaged. In addition, one downed drone fell in a populated area,” Solntsev added.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that six drones were shot down over the Orenburg region.

Earlier, a major Russian defense manufacturing facility in the city of Orsk, in the Orenburg region, was engulfed in flames, according to Russian outlet Astra on December 12. Videos and photos circulating on social media show a large fire at the site, with Russian media outlets confirming that an industrial facility was burning.
