Russia Destroyed or Damaged More Than 1800 Medical Facilities in Ukraine During Full-Scale Invasion
The Ministry of Health of Ukraine reported that Russia’s systematic shelling of civilian infrastructure since the beginning of the full-scale invasion damaged 1,642 medical facilities and completely destroyed 214 facilities.
The most affected by the shelling were medical institutions in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Sumy regions.
During the latest massive missile attack on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, on July 8, Russia targeted the “Ohmatdyt” Children’s Hospital, killing 2 people and injuring more than 30, and a Maternity hospital, killing 9 civilians and injuring 5.
The information is not full, since It is impossible to obtain complete information about the extent of the destruction of hospitals in the temporarily occupied territories.
Despite constant shelling, the medical infrastructure is being actively restored. In two years, 885 medical facilities have been fully or partially restored in various regions of Ukraine. Of these, 523 medical facilities have been fully restored, and another 362 were restored partially.
