Russia Has Used Cluster Warhead Missiles in Tonight’s Massive Night Assault on Ukraine
During the massive shelling of Ukraine on the night of June 12, the Russian army used Kh-101 missiles with a cluster muniotion warhead for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
On the night of June 12, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation attacked several Ukrainian cities with missiles and Shahed-type drones. Ukrainian Air Force Commander, Mykola Oleshchuk, reported the mobilization of anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare assets from the Ukrainian Defense Forces to counter the aerial assault.
Russia’s arsenal for the attack comprised four Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles launched from Tu-95MS strategic bombers in Saratov Region, an Iskander-M ballistic missile fired from Crimea, a Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal” aeroballistic missile from Tambov Region airspace, and 24 Shahed-131/136 combat UAVs launched from Yeysk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.
On 12 June, falling debris caused damage to civilian properties in the capital, and an industrial site in Kyiv Region caught fire. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised collaborative defense efforts, stressing the importance of resilience in saving lives. In Dnipropetrovsk Region, a drone strike resulted in injuries and damage, highlighting the ongoing threat.
Concerns mount over potential electricity outages for Ukrainian residents in the coming winter months due to attacks on energy facilities.
