Russia Launches Major Overnight Attack, Ukraine Intercepts All Drones and Missiles

On the night of June 12, Russia launched a massive missile air strike against Ukraine, targeting multiple Ukrainian regions with air and ground-based missiles, as well as attack drones. Russia also launched ballistic missiles towards the capital during the drone repulsion.

The city’s military administration reported that all targets aimed against the capital were intercepted, though falling debris caused damage to a house, a gas station, and a garage in the region. An attack caused a fire at an industrial site in Kyiv Region.

Overall, the Ukrainian Air Force intercepted all incoming targets, including 24 Shahed drones, one Kinzhal ballistic missile, and four Kh-101/555 cruise missiles over various Ukrainian regions, including Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Kharkiv, and Vinnytsia.

“Repelling terrorist attacks with the right tools can make protecting life a daily achievement. Thank you to all our partners who understand this and work alongside us to strengthen our resilience in this ongoing fight for life,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

A drone attack on Dnipropetrovsk Region resulted in damage and injuries despite Ukrainian forces shooting down 11 Shahed drones. Governor Serhiy Lysak reported that a family was caught in the crossfire. A 39-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were injured, and their 13-year-old son suffered shock.
