Spruds stated in February that Latvia will be sending 12,000 drones manufactured in Latvia during the first half of 2025.
The Drone Coalition was formed in February 2024 during the 19th meeting in the Ramstein format. Latvia proposed the initiative, and together with the United Kingdom, they coordinate the efforts. The coalition currently includes 18 countries: Latvia, the United Kingdom, Australia, Czechia, Denmark, France, Estonia, Italy, New Zealand, Canada, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Germany, Sweden, and Ukraine.
On March 24, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry reported that the international Drone Coalition has allocated €20 million to purchase reconnaissance drones for Ukraine.
